The kiddos

Ethan loves his camouflage face paint.. I hate to rain on his parade and not let him do it, but it is SUCH a pain in the butt to get off! If he gets it in his eyebrows he has a hint of green in there for days. He gets to do it about once a week. I think that is fair considering how hard the crap is to get off! Here he is with his face paint without the eyebrows done. Whew!

Here he is being a tough guy...

I like this version MUCH better!

We love to eat rice. Lainey especially loves it. Here she is with a rice beard :)

Ethan wanted me to get a movie of him "falling asleep at the table". Seriously, he cracks me up!

Okinawa World

We finally made it to Okinawa World! Ethan was supposed to go there for his birthday but he decided to invite his whole kindergarten class after we had told him only 2 friends. It would have cost us about $500.00, so we had to cancel. It was insanely hot so we made a quick trip down there. They have a huge cave, traditional Okinawan village and a Habu exhibit (Habu's are very poisonous snakes on Okinawa.) Here are the pics! (This is Andy by the way)

The gate to Okinawa World

Ethan, not too happy to be posing!
Shisa dogs!

The staircase leading down to the cave.

The cave, I have never seen so many stalactites and stalagmites in my life.

Really cool formation from the flowing water.

Not sure what the sign says....probably something like "Look at the stupid Americans in our cave."

Another Shisa dog.
Lainey LOVES shisa dogs.

Annie's favorite one.

Ethan was scared out of his mind, he doesn't look like it but once he realized he didn't have to touch it he was fine.

The Shisa dogs at the gate.

My favorite pic of Lainey!

Tired Baby!

Lainey was so tired the other day that she ate her lunch with her eyes closed. It was so funny! Poor tired baby! Notice how she is holding her fork, but not actually using it.

She loves to empty out baskets and sit in them to read her books..

Ethan made her this popsicle stick necklace. Wasn't that sweet of him?! We put it around her just for the picture because she kept saying "owie!" You gotta love her grin in the pictures..she cracks me up.

Lemonade!! We've got LEMONADE!

Ethan has been asking me for quite some time now to have a lemonade stand. I have had months of him asking me at least once a day if we could do it. I finally agreed and we got all the supplies together and spent an hour or so outside flagging down cars.

He and Jessica made this lovely sign. Let's play a game: Can you find the word "Lemonade"?! They had such a good time making it!

I had them make another sign that was a little less intricate so that people could actually see what they were selling:

Here is little Abbie. She reminds me of Madeline from the books..I love her little hat!

It was a total family ordeal. Me, Andy, Ethan, Lainey, Rumi, Greg, Jessica, and Abbie.
We tried to get Lainey to smile for the picture, but she was just too busy.

Luckily this cicada stayed put! It was just chilling on a tree branch near where we were selling the lemonade.

It did however decide to hang upside down after awhile...Ewww!The kids had quite a few people stop for them and they each made about 3 bucks. I think that we might have put a few quarters in there to help them out a bit :). Shhhh, don't tell!

P.S. If you ever see kids out selling lemonade, please stop and buy a cup of the stuff. Even if you don't drink it, still just buy some. You will make their day! I STILL remember selling lemonade and having bake sales with my cousin Jenny. They are great memories.

Lainey's New Slide..

I got Lainey a new slide for her pool. It's not new, but it is new to her :). She LOVES to swim. Every morning when she wakes up and we head downstairs one of the first words out of her mouth is "swim"?!

Here she is standing up. I can't tell you how many times I have to tell her to sit down. She thought it was a fun little game until I smacked her little butt and told her SIT DOWN! She has had a few close calls as far as tumbling down the slide, but so far, so good! And yes, she is naked. We found that if she takes off her diaper she goes a LOT faster! Weeeeee!!

Here she is taking a break for a much needed drink!

As you all know, Lainey just loves her brother. Here she is pretending to be a big kid eating popcorn with Ethan and his friend.
Ethan and his friend Jessica (yes, we have two little neighbor kids named Jessica) were having a blast telling Lainey to say words. Lainey is repeating almost everything we say these days. Which of course is a good/bad thing depending on what she repeats! I am sure that this was NOT a word that I would have approved of :)!

Go team LUGNUTS!!

Yes, that's right, Ethan's baseball team this year is the LUGNUTS!!
I wasn't able to get as many shots as I would have liked because I got stuck holding a little 2 month old baby the entire game. The mother was struggling to try and hold the squirming baby while she took pics so I offered to hold him so that she could get some pics of her kid. She took it as a free ride and I held him the ENTIRE game! I didn't mind though, it is always fun to have a little baby to snuggle with and the best thing about it was when he started to cry because he was hungry I just handed him back to his mamma!

Lainey LOVES peanut butter. I gave her some apples to go with it, but as you can tell, the apple sat untouched. She was a mess!!

Mowing the lawn...

Lainey just ADORES her daddy. She wanted to help him mow the lawn the other day. It resulted in some very grassy shoes! Her new thing these days is instead of calling her father "daddy" she yells, "ANNNDDDDYYYY"!
Hmm, I wonder who she learned that from?! Once he has left for work she wanders around the house saying "Andy"? It is darling. She also loves when Andy asks her "Are you my sweetheart?" in which she replies "YES"! It sounds more like "ass" than "yes" and every time Ethan giggles and giggles. ..it really is quite funny :)

Happy 4th of July!

The rain finally stopped (wahoo!) and so we were able to go to "AmericaFest" on Saturday. We saw some really cool planes, jets, helicopter's etc. It was open to the local's as well and it was a GREAT place to people watch!

Here is the new F22:

Ethan always has a great time at things like this. He brought along his military airplane book so that he could have the pilot's autograph the page next to their aircraft. He was quite shy about it, but was brave and went up all on his own to ask them. Of course they thought it was pretty damn cute.

Gary Sinise was here for the weekend, meeting and greeting military members. Andy just took a pic and we were on our way.

Me and Lainey bug..it was a bit windy! It was nice though, since it was quite hot outside! (I have had quite a few comments on my lovely RED hair. Nope, sorry, it was a lady behind me)!!

Andy with the kids. Gotta love Ethan's fake smile!
The F-4 :
Here is the back of an F-15. How cool is that?!

Getting an autograph. Notice how far away he stood :)

Ethan always manages to catch the attention of the locals and they LOVE to take pictures with him. They love his blonde hair and blue eyes.
He got a bit braver this time and actually talked with the pilot.
Japanese woman love their shoes. It isn't uncommon to see women wearing high heels while riding bikes or get this, STILLETOS while hiking. I am more of a comfort gal myself. In my younger years though I would wear 4 inch boots while bartending for 12 straight hours so I can surely feel their pain!
As Lainey would say: The "weee-ooo wee-ooo".

Ebear looking all cool:

The side of a C1-30:

I think that a lot of the Japanese come on base not for the planes, but for the pizza! 1 out of 5 people leaving the flight line were carrying pizza. These women stocked up! It's sad too because the pizza really isn't even that good :).

Here is a pic just to show you how adorable Lainey can look..the next pic however is not her best!

We didn't give her ANYTHING sour, she just made this face. I seriously almost pee my pants every time I look at it.

Here she is checking out all the gadgets..

Isn't this a total Marilyn Monroe moment?!

Ethan would have stayed up there forever. He was in heaven!
