Halloween Party!

Here is Ethan in his Halloween costume 2008. He is a Recon guy..whatever that is right?! He loves it!



A little boy from Ethan's class had a Halloween party for the whole class. Brave mom! There were 15 kids in total so it wasn't too insane. Ethan's class actually has 28 students and counting. It is way too big, but they won't hire a new teacher until all 3 kindergarten classes have 28 kids. It is ridiculous. Anyway, here they are playing tug-of-war.






It was hard trying to get all the kids to look at the same time, here is the best shot.

Ethan wanted Mio to help him with his army base. He decided that Mio needed to be covered up and have a balloon tied to her. She is such a good sport, she just lays there and lets him do whatever he wants. Such a good doggie!

Andy's work event

I can't figure out for the life of me how to take the underlining off....What the crap?! Anyway, it is annoying, but whatever. We finally went to one of Andy's work funtions. This was the calm before the storm. Andy was feeling good, Ethan was happy, but red cheeked and Lainey was in a great mood. We went and had some lunch, Ethan played on a few bouncy toys and we even got a "train ride"!

Here is a pic of Lainey and Mamma chillin watching Ethan go down a crazy slide. It looks like I am trying to cover up her crotch. I am not, but I think subconciously I was trying to show off my newly painted black fingernails. That is a funny story. I was trying to keep up with the times and I had read in several magazines that plum is the new Fall color so when we were at the store I bought this lovely color. I guess I was colorblind for a moment because it is a VERY VERY deep purple. Put a few coats on and it is black. Have YOU ever tried to paint your fingernails black? It is a trial all in its own. I kept getting it ALL OVER me and I thought I had it looking nice and didn't touch anything for like an hour and then went to bed. I woke up the next morning to find pillow marks all over my nails. I couldn't take it off because my cuticles were now a lovely black so, I just left them! Who looks at your nails that close anyway right?!

Here is poor Ethan at the height of his skin rash. We went to the doctor today and he thinks it is either fifth disease or get this, SCARLET FEVER. Fifths disease is no big deal, you just have to wait it out, but Scarlet Fever requires antibiotics. He did yet another strep test and we will know in a few days what's up. He has all the signs of Scarlet Fever, even the strawberry tongue. I get that they don't want to overprescribe antibiotics, but if you freaking look at all the symptoms that Ethan had/has, he is the classic text book example. Until we get the results back he just told me to keep everyone in the family away from eachother. Are you kidding?! Nope. Yeah, right, good luck on that one. Poor Ethan, this climate here just doesn't mesh well with him. The doctor said that some kids are just chronically sick while living here. Oh what wonderful news. Just one more reason I am counting down the months....

This is post 100!!!

Wow, can you believe it, 100 posts! That is a lot of blogging! Today is Monday and I have a sick family...Andy caught the bug too. Yesterday Ethan developed a red heat rash all over his skin and his tongue was all white. I thought for sure he had strep throat so the boys headed to the ER last night to get Ethan some relief. Ah geez, it is a holiday weekend (Colombus Day) and boy was the ER packed! 3 hours later the boys came home with the news of no, it isn't strep, just a bad virus. Andy said the ER was freezing cold and came home shivering...poor guy. So, we have a coughing Lainey bug, a hot feverish Ethan and a sick daddy. I on the other hand am using hand sanitizer every chance I get. I have also sprayed every surface with sanitizing spray. Oh the joy! Lainey was feeling really yucky the other day and I was trying to make her laugh. Here is the clip. Poor girl!

Lainey

Lainey is now 10 months old (it is actually the 11th here in Japan). She is so busy these days. She can now say two words, neither of which are mamma though.....She has been saying Dada now for over a month and her new word now is NONONONONO. Yes, my child is already telling me NO! I go to change her diaper and she yells at me, NONONO! Ah geez. She is a little firecracker I tell ya. Here she is getting into the dog stuff. At least it is not the dog dish. I think that is where she learned the beloved NO word. I have to remove her from the dog dish at least 20 times a day.
P.S. Those red pants on her were mine! Good job grammy barb for keeping my stuff! It is fun to dress her in clothes that were mine. Also, if you click on the pic to enlarge it, you can see lainey's two little teeth on the bottom!

Ethan is a GREAT big brother..He really does love his little sister, sometimes even when she doesn't really want the love..SAY CHEESE Lainey!

I think we have done about as much damage control as we could. I tell ya, that SUCKED! We still have a few friends we are missing, but we'll get them eventually. Ah geez! On a much lighter note, look who is taking after his dad....


We might just have another lacrosse player! Speaking of, Andy found a club here on Okinawa and is going to start playing with them so we'll keep you posted as far as that goes. I am really excited for him!



I had to post this picture of Lainey because she had NO IDEA that her shorts were on her head. I just casually tossed them a top her little head and she didn't notice. She was crawling around playing and what not and was totally oblivious. he he..I am a mean parent! Makes for funny pics though!

Pardon my french, but I got this wonderful idea to change my background and I somehow deleted all our friends blogs along with all our wonderful gadgets! Ah geez......I now have my work cut out for me to try and find all of you wonderful people again. HELP ME OUT HERE and give me your blog address again if you don't see your name on the side.
