Andy took the kids around to a bunch of different parks and random places that just looked cool. They all had a BLAST! I think it was nice not having me around. I tend to be the super overprotective/cautious mother and don't let the kids have as much fun as when daddy takes them out.

Lainey loves leaves..she picks them up whenever we go on walks. I am sure that this great big one provided many minutes of entertainment!
Andy was trying to get a shot of the kids together. Lainey had other plans and would not hold still. Ethan tried to help out...

Here is one difference of mommy vs. daddy. I would have been scared out of my pants to let her swing by herself..I just picture her flipping over backwards and hitting her head or breaking something.
But look, she had a blast!

Looks like the kids had a fun day with Daddy. And how great that you had a break. Sounds like a win-win! (assuming Andy had a good time...!)
I bet it's so fun to see pics afterwards from the kids' day out with daddy. I'm thinking I'll be a lot like you as a parent...a cautious and protective mama!
HA! the zip-line spill is hilarious. I love how andy captured the whole thing! And OF COURSE we had to get one with Ethan with some sort of weapon! Oh my gosh, that scares me too about the swing-but she pulled it off "Grace"-fully...haha! Anyway, good job Andy. Afterall, when mom's happy- EVERYONES happy :) p.s. i am anxiously awaiting a pic of your hat.
Haha...love the rope swing pics! I love when he's falling and then totally on the dirt :) I'm glad you got some time away, too!! Seriously...Andy is a great photographer..he's captured some amazing pics!!
Annie, I love your blog! It is always so entertaining and has the best pictures! The vending machines remind me of the week I spent at Suzuka Circuit. I loved to get Pokey from them.
I'm so glad you had some time by yourself (With Rumi). You need that! Plus, the kids need time with just Andy and it looks like they had a GREAT time!!
LOVE the photo of lainey bug on the swing! and also the ones of ethan on (and off) the zip line! i agree that dads in general are more relaxed around playground equipment, trees, etc. good for YOU to get "away" for a few hours!
