Ethan participated in the Taiko Club this semester. He LOVED it. We bought him his own little bachi drum (that you see in the pictures) for a nice souvenir for his time spent here. He did such a great job at his performance. We also bought the cd with all of the songs so he could practice when he was at home. Boy did he practice!! If I never hear those songs again, that would certainly be fine with me!
His teacher:
Ethan waiting patiently for the performance to begin:
*Oh and a side note, I ordered him a youth medium thinking that surely it would fit..oops, should have ordered a small!!!
He had a super tall boy in front of him (all of the grades could participate in the club) so it sucked when he was performing because I had to try to get past the older kid to get a decent shot.
It finally stopped raining long enough for us to take a picture of our outside decorations:
Here is a clip from his Taiko performance: Sorry the quality is so crappy, the camera doesn't zoom in very well.

whoa, that kid IS tall! i LOVE this post...i cannot even believe how ethan is becoming such a little man-and so fast. he looked darling doing his report (good job on the poster, by the way) and i think its awesome you stuck him in that taiko drum class (even if it did give you a migraine the whole time, ha!). your kids will LOVE looking at these pictures later in life...what cool memories!
alright, i just noticed a few minor details...
1. ethan's teacher MUST have a method to her madness...her white board is a MESS! that would drive me NUTS.
2. LOVE that ethan has his name on the board...hehe
3. it looks as if ethans shoes are on backwards at his taiko drum class...so funny!
Really fun to see pictures of him giving his report - how grown up he looks... LOVED the video with Ethan's smooth drummin' moves! (There's always some big kid in front of yours while you're filming, it seems...) Good job on the Christmas lights!
I agree with Breck- Ethan is quite the little man, and he'll enjoy looking at these pics when he's older. It's great that you're encouraging music with him too; I've heard that does a lot for stimulating mental development. Speaking of, I just found a mom & tot rhythm class here in town, but the kids have to at least be 2 yrs old ;(....well, at least we have something fun to look forward to. Benjamin WILL be old enough for mom & tot swim next summer though- yippeee!
Who the freakazoid is that jolly green giant in front of Ethan? Yowsers!!
Loved the pics of him at school..he is getting so big! That drum club is pretty sweet..your boy's got some moooooves!
Great job Ethan! I'm glad I got a preview of your drumming while visiting. Awesome report on the elephants.
can't wait to see ebear in person again!! great report (you too annie) and nice that you could watch him without your little helper. now, the drumming.....yes, i would need earplugs to get thru "practices" but he has got some GREAT moves goin' there....a little hip action is good!:)
oops...forgot to say that i love your christmas lights too!
