Ikei and Hamahiga Island

Here are some pictures from a couple really small islands about 5 minutes away from White Beach (White Beach is where I work). They are some very cool islands with some unique photo opportunities. I had a lot of fun with my mom out there. The streets were so quiet that my footsteps seemed to be way too loud. I could hear conversations going on in the houses and smell the food that they were cooking. Enjoy....

Looking out to Miyagi Island

A very cool farmers hut. Notice the bamboo construction.

A look from Henza Island to Ikei Island

I love the old school hand painted Coca-Cola signs. They are everywhere on Okinawa. I love the look of the faded paint of both the sign and the building. They have both seen better days.

A quiet little road on Ikei island.

Very cool rooftops. These are one room houses that are still lived in.

An old rooftop on Ikei Island

This has to be some of the best graffiti I have seen. There is about 2 miles of seawall covered with it. This was at the very end. Its an HDR (High Dynamic Range) photo, a new technique im working on.

WHAT?! those are so cool!! so much history. does mr. miyagi live on miyagi island?? wax-on-wax-off :) that graffiti is awesome. eventhough it is a very modern artform, there is still something very nostalgic about it.
