Hurt Feelings....
So I am really bummed...Lainey has been saying Dada now for MONTHS and she refuses to say mamma. Really, she can say it, we have heard her a few times, but every time we ask her to say it all that comes out is a NONONONONO!!!!! At first Andy thought it was her way of saying mamma, cause it kind of sounded like NaNaNaNa, but she has gotten better at saying no now and it is defititely NO. What the hell?! Tonight she really hurt my feelings too. She was all ready for bed and Andy was taking her up and she wouldn't even look at me. I tried to give her a kiss and she just stared past me and wouldn't wave bye or anything. I feel like my daughter doesn't even like me. It sure makes the days suck when I am the one doing everything for her and she won't even say my name. I thought this was supposed to come when she was a teenager, not when she isn't even a year old yet. Anyway, there is my rant. I know that I shouldn't let it get to me, but how would YOU feel?!!!!

Oh man....I would beat her ass till she says your name! You do EVERYTHING for her!
Just kidding...she is just figuring things out and learning the system...give her time. She loves you but she is just being a butt!
Annabelle! Quinn's dr told me that she will pay more attention to daddy, and say daddy first, and look JUST like her daddy when she is very little because that is the way that she and daddy connect. Dads and boys connect from day one because they are both boys...but daddies & their girls need a little more help to connect. Its totally normal for you to feel this way and for her to act this way. Don't worry- it'll happen...just be patient. And now...go and get a piece of cheesecake, put on some slippers and veg out in front of some sappy movie- and then call me! Love you.
Oh Annie! I am soo sorry! I have had feelings like that before too! She loves you, she is just getting a head start in getting her daddy wrapped around her little finger. She has already figured out the game! I love her rolls!! Sooo darling!
It does suck when you don't feel appreciated...even by a little one. Just know that it has less to do with you and more to do with where she is with everything right now. Moms are the ones that are ALWAYS there - dads come and go and are a bit more of a novelty. I can remember many many days where I worked my little heart out and I didn't feel that anyone gave a damn. Lainey truly isn't trying to hurt your feelings...she'll get through this stage and go through times when she is totally into you and Andy might feel bad. Just hang in there - it will shift. If it doesn't soon, don't MAKE me come over there and speak to little Missy! Just let it go and don't push her on it....looks as if she has a bit of a stubborn streak! Remember what a great mom you are!
Annie, Zachary does the same thing and it really does hurt. It will pass, but in the meantime you just need to grin and bear it (easier said than done). Just think of all the time you get to spend with her so Andy and her have a lot of catching up to do. Daddy won't always be so cool:-)
