So, I felt like the world's worst mother two days ago...Lainey was practicing standing (that is all she wants to do these days) holding on to our chair by the computer and against my better judgement I leaned over to get her a toy and she fell over. Right into the corner of the desk. It was the BIGGEST goose egg I have ever seen. The picture does not even show it at all. I took that picture about 2 hours after the incident. I felt soooo bad. She was fine after about 10 minutes, but man, not me! I called her doctor after picking up ethan from preschool and having had all the mother's there shriek in horror and tell me that I should not let her go to sleep for at least two hours and to probably take her to the ER in case of a concussion. She was acting fine and her doctor just told me not to listen to the other mother's anymore and to follow my instincts...which were that she was fine, but after having all these mom's make you feel like the world's worst mother, you begin to doubt your judgement. Anyway, all is well with Lainey (and me) and I will make sure that I NEVER leave her for a second while she practices standing. I know that this will be the first of many bumps and bruises, but it doesn't ever really get easier. Ethan has a scar on his nose from his first few years of life. The kid always managed to skin his nose when he fell....

Lainey and her first big BONK

LOVE the costume! Thats how I always remember Ethan, in some sort of costume! ;o)
Her bump will go away in no time! it adds character! LOL Dont feel bad, Rylee crawled off our bed and did like a back flip when she was that age! It was so great to talk to you yesterday!!! Miss you guys!
poor thing! reminds me of another fair-skinned little girl about 20 something years ago. ice, hugs, and maybe some red licorice. (who said that?)
Oh, so sad! I'm sure you felt so horrible when that happened! But based on the pic & that huge smile - -she looks good to me!
My sister told me once that we spend the first 5 years of their lives trying to keep them alive and the next 15 years wanting to kill them! : ) Don't torture yourself over this...(easier said, right?)...you just make me feel better about the steady stream of injuries at our house! Love, Nancy
What a shiner! We have Shiners here in Texas....Shiner Bock! A different kind of shiner though....give her hugs and kisses from Grampa Bryan.
