BUGS

Ethan and his friend Joe caught a HUGE grasshopper the other day (with the help of Andy). Both boys were too scared to actually catch it, but once he was in the container they had a great time. They put a bit of water and grass in there for him and carried him around all day. I wish I would have gotten a close up of the wretched thing, it was like 3-4 inches long. EWWW! I felt bad for the nasty grasshopper though and the next day I took of the lid and high tailed it back into the house before it could eat me. Ethan was a bit sad to lose his buddy, but I told him that he wouldn't survive much longer in the container and he needed to be free. So, after a few tears all was well and he went back to playing promising to never forget his little buddy. Ah, the life of a kid!

oh, ethan! grammy barb is not afraid of bugs! i helped both your mommy and your uncle jayson collect bugs for their "bug collections" when they were little! bugs are all a part of god's plan....they are the food for many birds, snakes, etc. and are good. i have been running every day and see many bugs, and hope that they survive. but i always hope too that the birds, lizards, snakes, etc. find the food that they need to eat and stay alive! wish i were there!!! love, grammy barb
